Media consumption audit

 

 

  • Which daily newspapers (if any) do you read? ::: I dont read any newspapers 
  • What sections of newspapers do you turn to first, and why?:  With some newspapers that ive found on the bus i always turn to either the sports section or a puzzle
  • What sections do you never read, and why? Fashion and Clothing section never interest me as clothes arent my profession 
  • What kinds of stories do you usually read and why? Perhaps huge controversy or sports transfer news
  • Do you, or someone else, buy the newspaper you read? No sometimes i find them on the bus
  • Do you look at the online versions of any newspapers? Which newspapers? Why do you visit their website and not others?  I dont look at any versions online

  • What magazines (if any) do you buy regularly?  Why/why not? If theres  a Sports cover that'll really interest me then ill read it 
  • What sections of the magazines do you read and not read, and why? Fashion and clothing really not interesting 

  • Approximately how many hours a week do you spend watching television? Around 8 hours if im really interested in the series or Tv
  • What device do you use to watch television? Phone or TV on netflix
  • What times of day do you usually watch television? Around 8 to 10 
  • What programmes do you like best and why? Mr robot and Breaking bad
  • Do you watch alone or with others? If you watch with others, who decides what you will watch? If its with my little brother ill watch a kids show until he falls asleep
  • Do you watch 'live' TV or on-demand/catch-up? Do you use any other devices to watch TV (such as laptop or tablet?)  DEMAND/CATCHUP I have a tablet by phone is more preferable 


  • What films have you seen in the cinema in the last month? Across the Spider Verse
  • What films have you seen in other places – for example, through Netflix, Amazon Prime, satellite/cable film channels (free or otherwise) or streaming?  Bojack horseman The Sopranos Better call saul
  • Who else watched the films with you? My older Sister
  • Who decided what films to watch? Mostly my sister but i sometimes choose aswell
  • What devices do you typically use to watch films: TV, laptop, tablet, phone etc.? Phone or TV

  • How often do you access the internet? A lot of the time
  • Where do you access the internet? At home, at school, commuting etc. School, At home 
  • What are the main sites that you access? Twitter and Youtube
  • What are the main reasons for accessing these sites – for example, for information, to make purchases, communicate with friends or for entertainment? Mostly Info or entertainment
  • What other activities (if any) do you do whilst accessing the internet? Play online games like tanki online 
  • What different devices do you use to access the internet? What is your primary device for accessing the internet? Phone
  • What social networks do you use regularly (e.g. Twitter, Instagram)? Why do you belong to these networks in particular? Twitter(Elon)

  • How can you develop the amount and variety of media you consume? Ask for Recommendations 
  • What will you change in your media consumption habits this year as a result of studying A Level Media? Perhaps examine Radio and film More
  • List three sources of media (websites/newspapers/apps/TV programmes etc.) that you will start to access this year that you haven't engaged with previously.  FILM SERIES AND RADIO OR MAGAZINE

 Q1: They use a wide range of different stories and cultures for example a black family or a white family or a single mother family it's very accessible to different communities and doesn't exclude anyone which is good for an advertisement. Q2: They used the bandwagon technique which makes people feel like they are missing out which brings out a wider audience, it is very smart. Q3: Cant access the file Q4: Experts They may be referencing experts who have a good knowledge of the topic giving the audience the information they need to understand the media product more easily. Q5: Marmite has used intertextuality by using the cartoon character Paddington Bear in a campaign. The Paddington Bear used to eat marmalade sandwiches but changed to marmite sandwiches. Genre blog tasks:

 Q1: They can efficiently convey meaning without the need of countless text which may confuse the reader. Q2: They let us sort out types of movies films radios etc into different stylistic choices. Q3: The disaster genre is mostly impending/foreshadowed disaster as the primary version of that plot and movie whereas action genre is generally very fast paced and have a lot of fight scenes and violence it even has slow motion shots to amplify that sense of danger the character is in.
